I am back in Mahahual after 2 weeks in Xcalak, Mexico. I am staying again at the Majahua hostal right in the center of town in Mahahual on the Costa Maya. I have stayed here almost the whole time I have been in Mahahual. It is a new hostel ran by Fernando and his wife Claudia, Fernando also has a popular resturant here where I eat a lot. Hostal Majahua has private and community rooms all which come with fans. The hostal also has hot water, lockers, a kitchen, security, bikes, tours, and if you stay here you get free access to the beach club and resturant Fernando operates. The place here is very clean and right in the center of town and the back faces the beach. You can walk to just about anything in town in 5 minutes. During my stay here I have met many interesting people from all over the world. I have met travelers from Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Brazil, Finland, Canada, Sweden, and numerous Americans, even a couple of hippies from California. Right now I am rooming with a man from Denmark and a young woman from Germany. There are a lot of things you can do in Mahahual while you are staying at Hostal Majahua, snorkling, jet skis, fly fishing, scuba diving, banana boat rides, ocean kayaks, sunbathing, or just hang out on the beach. The white sandy beach here is beautiful and the water is crystal clear, it truly is a Mexican paradise. So if you are looking to make a trip to Mahahual anytime in the near future I highly suggest that you check out the Hostal Majahua, the rates are very reasonable. You can stay at the Hostal Majahua for under $10 USD a day, and that is cheap for the Costa Maya. You can get in touch with them at the hostal by email at www.hostalmajagua@gmail.com or call 983-112-2724.
